Retos y oportunidades de las intervenciones cognitivas en personas adultas mayores sanas: una revisión narrativa

El envejecimiento cognitivo relacionado con la edad abarca todas las modificaciones que se evidencian en diversas funciones cognitivas conforme una persona envejece, incluso en individuos sanos, es decir, sin la presencia de enfermedades. Hasta el momento, se han propuesto numerosos programas de intervención para mitigar el deterioro cognitivo relacionado con la edad. Las características de estas intervenciones son altamente heterogéneas, y en la literatura solo se han observado resultados parcialmente exitosos. Esta breve revisión narrativa de la literatura pretende brindar una contribución actualizada que impulse investigaciones más rigurosas y, al mismo tiempo, estimulantes en este campo, que destaquen especialmente la eficacia, la adherencia y la validez ecológica de los programas futuros, destinados a mejorar la cognición en adultos mayores.Citas
